What Are HTML Color Codes?
HTML color codes are the standard color values accepted by HTML and CSS. They include the 148 named colors defined by the CSS Color Module Level 4 (such as "coral", "skyblue", "rebeccapurple"), plus any HEX, RGB, HSL or CSS custom property value. Named colors are portable, readable and accepted by every browser.
The 148 CSS Named Colors
The CSS named colors are a curated set including classics like Red, Green and Blue plus more specific hues like Coral, Salmon, Periwinkle and RebeccaPurple. They range from neutrals (White, Black, Gray) to vivid hues (Fuchsia, Tomato, Gold) and are extremely useful for prototypes and quick mockups where readability matters more than exact color matching.
