Extracted Palette (10 Dominant Colors)
What Is a Color Palette Extractor?
A color palette extractor analyzes an image and pulls out its most prominent colors. Unlike a color picker that samples one pixel at a time, a palette extractor processes the entire image and returns a ranked list of the colors that define its visual identity. This is the fastest way to extract a color scheme from a photograph, illustration, logo or design reference.
What It Returns
- Top 10 dominant colors: Ranked by pixel count — the colors the human eye perceives first.
- Exact HEX values: Copy-ready codes for every extracted color.
- Pixel sampling: Click anywhere on the image to grab a specific pixel color.
- Live preview: See the extracted palette rendered as swatches.
How Colors Are Extracted
The image is drawn to a small canvas (100×100 pixels), and every visible pixel is sampled. Colors are bucketed into 32-step RGB ranges and counted. The 10 buckets with the highest pixel counts become the extracted palette. This approach runs in milliseconds in your browser and produces visually representative results.
Privacy
All processing happens locally using the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device — no uploads, no server, no tracking. Works fully offline.
